Preserve and create space for biodiversity
Rather than destroying natural spaces through construction measures, we want to proactively promote and protect the animal and plant world. All parties involved in construction take responsibility to ensure that biodiversity, which is vital for humanity, is not further destroyed.
Alongside with the climate crisis, the rapid loss of natural biodiversity poses the greatest threat to human existence. The cultivation and extraction of raw materials and the sealing of surfaces by buildings, open spaces and traffic areas are destroying natural ecosystems.
Therefore, regional, urban and open space planning has a special responsibility: it has to preserve and develop green spaces, unsealed areas and ecosystems and diverse- rather than monocultures. Development and land use plans have to take into account the preservation of the quality of biodiversity. Natural ecosystem services have to be factored into economic considerations. There has to be no more designation of new building areas on "greenfields" and no more completely sealed industrial areas. In existing urban areas, improvements can be achieved, for example, with green roofs and facades. Wild urban greenery instead of rock gardens!
Let's bring our built environment into harmony with nature!
